What is detailing?
Detailing is more than just washing. It requires a specialist detailer several hours to thoroughly clean, treat and finish of all of your vehicles surfaces, inside and out. Specialist products are used and the exterior is finished with a foam wax to ensure a long lasting shine and gloss and protection from the elements.
How often should I get my car detailed?
Realistically, in our harsh environment, your car should be carefully detailed at least every 6 months. And in between, I recommend a regular foam wash with a premium foam wax finish. This schedule will give your car ongoing protection. It is a small price to pay when you trade in your car. With care, your car should retain it’s new look for years to come.
What is polish?
Polish is a liquid that has suspended particles. These particles are designed to be either “abrasive” to rub out defects and sand back paintwork a few microns at a time, or as a “filler” to mask scratches. This reduces the edges of a scratch catching the light, which in turn catches your eye. Only abrasive polish can cure the problems in paintwork, fillers can only hide them for a period of time. Over the counter brands can confuse buyers and you should not confuse Polish, Wax and Sealants. Polish is not applied to leave a slick finish on the paint, its designed to basically remove scratches and buff off oxidization to reveal the paint. Polish is applied and then totally removed.
